A Look Back at All You’ve Done in 2017
RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate had a great holiday party at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. We are so fortunate to have such and amazing venue in Whistler! At each one of our Holiday Parties, the agents have to suffer through my annual “Year in Review” recap. Here’s what I said this year. (Photos below). -Stef
“First of all, we need to thank Karen Garrett and EileenCraig of DLC Sea to Sky Mortgages for the best gift of all at our Holiday Party: The wine!
As RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate Agents and Employees, Here’s what YOU have have accomplished in 2017:
We invited 12 agents who reached certain RE/MAX production levels to R4 (the annual RE/MAX Conference) in Las Vegas. We had 17 people (between agents and assistants) attend – the most people ever!
In April you held a great ski day! Thank you to Meg McLean, Mike Wilson and The GLC for hosting us! We had many of our RE/MAX agent friends from the Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island areas come up to Whistler for the occasion.
You supported the WNORTH conference as sponsors and you supported their preferred charity, One Girl Can, by sponsoring a year of high school education for not 1, but 2 girls in Kenya. (They’ve written us really nice thank you letters, btw).
You welcomed Kayla Adamovich (Executive Assistant to Ann and Matt Chiasson), Madison Perry (Buyer’s Agent for Team Dana Friesen Smith), Melanie Trembley (Assistant to Barb Gloor), and Victor Beresford (Real Estate Agent) to the company, and Kate Bell (MarketPlace Reception) back to the company.
You were once again awarded the status of Miracle office for your contributions to the Children’s Miracle Network benefiting the BC Children’s hospital.
You were a venue sponsor for Lighthouse Visionary Strategies women’s mentor network. They used our boardroom for their meetings, as did the Real Estate Association of Whistler, The Whistler Health Care Foundation, Whistler Community Services Society, and our local Syrian refugees who met in our office for their English lessons.
Some of you attended the Luxury Real Estate conference on Maui and connected with great colleagues from around the world.
In June we had a really nice awards party at Bar Oso. All of our full time agents made RE/MAX award levels and we had a record number of platinum award recipients.
You supported local families at the Father Daughter Dance with proceeds going towards the Whistler Day Care.
You participated in Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations by being part of the July 1st parade.
We participated in ArtWalk! We even featured the art of one of our own in our MarketPlace office: our conveyancer, Aimee Todd Mussett.
You sponsored the Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournaments in both Whistler and Squamish, with the Squamish tournament benefiting the Squamish Hospital Foundation.
You WON the WCSS food bank food drive for the second year in a row with the most donations per person. (THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your generous contributions!)
You had a really fun Lobster fest.
We had fun sponsoring the Whistler Village Beer Festival with games and booth animation.
We jumped on the RE/MAX brand evolution with new company logos, a new look for our back page of the Pique, a slightly new look for our magazine, and a new look for our window display.
A bunch of you attended the RE/MAX Collection Conference in Seattle in October. Some of you earned your certified luxury home marketing specialization while there.
You supported the “Thinking of You Fund” through the Real Estate Association of Whistler.
You responded to a need in Squamish for coats and warm things for under privileged teens. (Great job getting the word out!)
You sponsored the Whistler Film Festival and hosted a nice evening at the Audain museum.
We’ve built a new website – the best in town, which will launch any day now.
(One of) You climbed mountains to support the BC Children’s hospital,.
(Some of) You sat on the boards of directors for Whistler Community Services Society, the Whistler Film Festival, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, and Zero Ceiling.
You coached kids hockey.
You raised money for various organizations,
You have been active and involved representatives on the REAW board. (Thank you Sherry Baker and Dave Beattie!)
You volunteered as Mountain Hosts, Village Hosts, Bike Hosts and on the Golf Courses, showing not only all that the Sea to Sky has to offer, but showing off the great people here too.
Most importantly, you’ve helped each other. The conversations I’ve heard around the office lately have been amazing, and I couldn’t be more proud of this team. Thank you so much for helping each other. You are the A team.
We’ve celebrated 1 new baby RE/MAXer; we’ve had a couple of couples get engaged, and a few more buy their dream properties.
We also had some very special anniversaries this year, and I’d like to recognize them now: Ted Morden is celebrating 25 years with Sea to Sky Real Estate. We went out to dinner to celebrate. And finally, 2 very special people have been with Sea to Sky Real Estate for 30 years. This is a huge feat. Thank you and Congratulations to Chris Wetaski and Sally Warner.
Where we’re headed in 2018
We will continue to focus on agent training and education, so you can be the most help to your clients.
We will focus on stats and useful information for your clients positioning RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate agents as the experts.
We’ll be inviting 14 agents to R4 in Las Vegas in February.
In addition, we will continue to support various community organizations that are so important to us.
And in 2018 we’ll be celebrating 40 years as a company!!”
